STC’s mentorship is helping and empowering the community, more especially when it comes to the youth. STC has a mass participation program in association with and executed by ‘United Through Sport’ Partnering with Six poorest non-fee schools involving pupils from Grade 5, 6 & 7 within relative proximity to the Swartkops Terminal site. Following on direct with sport coaching in Football, Ruby, Cricket, Netball, Hockey, Basketball and Tennis as well as the Youth Development Football (YDF) Curriculum, focusing on education and awareness around HIV and AIDS and gender issues.
This Programme has been very successful. Since being part of this initiative 975 children have been reached, each with a minimum contract time of 16 hours- leading to a combined total of 35100 contact hours with children between the ages of 11 & 13.
This Programme has encouraged United Through Sport to achieve the goal of increasing the number of females enrolling in physical activities and promoting equality in sporting opportunities.
These projects include the following:
1. R200 000 COVID-19 Food Parcel relief support
2. Isaac Boy Multi-purpose Sport Court
3. Literacy Class room project and Library project

Sport and Recreational skills training and development programme initiatives in 6 of the poorest schools in the adjoining community. In December of 2015 and 2016, STC provided personal hygiene items and school shoes to girls and boys of all the schools served as a special Christmas gift.
STC supports the local Port Elizabeth Siyaya SMME Development fund by contributing annually to this local SMME fund. STC has employed almost 60% of its workforce from the local community and created ± 104 permanent new jobs. SMME sustained business opportunity created at Swartkops on site from the local community. STC has sponsored disabled black women by enrolling them in a 12-month SETA accredited Learnership Programme. At the end of the learnership, the ladies were permanently employed.
