STC is the 1st Mn back-of-port export logistic services company to conduct the loading of a Bulk Manganese vessel via PON (77 000 MT) and loaded the largest bulk Mn ship of 79 000 MT to date at PON.

  • Capacity to handle 2,8mil tons per Anum & offload 55000 tons per week

  • Averages 10-11 hours turn-around-time offloading time per 104 wagon train

  • Averages 10000 tons on top ship per 24 hours of ship loading

  • Level - 2 BBBEE accreditation: STC has 30% direct, unencumbered BBBEE shareholding, with ±70% BBBEE / Historical Disadvantage Individuals Employment

OUR ACCOLADES

The Swartkops Terminal has received two prestigious awards. One for "JOB CREATION" and the second for "BEST PROVIDER OF SERVICE TO EXPORTERS" at an event held in Gqeberha on Friday,17th August, 2018 at The Boardwalk Hotel, Summerstrand.

The Eastern Cape Exports Award Ceremony is held annually in Gqeberha to honour entities involved in exporting, either directly or indirectly.  For Swartkops Terminal, winning these awards gave us the recognition which generated a substantial and sustained increase in the manganese export industry.

The Eastern Cape Export committee's mission is to encourage more local firms to prepare themselves to take on the challenge of transporting and to assist existing exporters to become more globally competitive. The award ceremony in the Eastern Cape Region includes the ports of Gqeberha, East London, and Ngqura.

On 08th November 2018, The Swartkops Terminal  (STC) was also one of the Top 20 Finalists in the 2018 South African Small Business Awards.STC won the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality "TOP COAL & ORE EXPORTER" category for the Top 50 companies in the metropolitan.

The award was given, among others, to longstanding entrepreneurs and investors for their roles that have developed the economy, creating employment and promoting investment in the Gqeberha Region. The Mayor said the government’s core goal of eradicating poverty, unemployment, and equality was enabled through continued investment in the business sector. 

The Swartkops Terminal is privileged to have been part of this and will keep striving to support the government in reaching this goal. In the Investing in People category of the National Business Awards in November 2017.

These National Business Awards are regarded as 'the Oscars' of South African Business and give recognition to the success, innovation, inspirational leadership and ethics of South African business across all sectors.
